Gerr Walsh is a Dublin based Indie Folk artist who first gained attention with his debut EP Prevailing Winds in 2016. His follow-up album, Ghosts of Hope & Magic, released in 2021, received critical acclaim and garnered substantial support from Irish national radio, with notable backing from RTE Radio 1 DJs such as Cathal Murray, John Creedon, Lilian Smith, and Fiachna Ó Braonáin. His music also featured on RTE’s Ireland in Music, broadcast globally.
Tony Clayton-Lea of The Business Post gave Ghosts of Hope & Magic 3.5 stars, praising it as “fluid, cinematic, and seductive,” drawing comparisons to bands like Elbow and The Blue Nile. Gerr’s live performances have been widely acclaimed, with recent shows supporting Gemma Hayes, Paddy Casey, and a joint performance with Naimee Coleman. He also recently performed at the RTE Radio1 Studio on The Ray Darcy Show.
Gerr is currently in the final stages of completing his next album, slated for release in early 2026.
